The anniversary of the 1977 crash has just passed, reminding us of the 1970 Marshall crash as well. There was another tragic crash in Indiana -- in 1903. A Big Four train headed for Indy also contained fans and the Purdue football team, which was preparing for the annual Old Oaken Bucket game with IU. It ran into a coal train.

As we know, the 2020 OOB has been scrapped. The last time that happened was the 1918-19 flu pandemics. We were smart back then too.

Yeah, I suppose if you threw that at me, I'd wonder. Old Oaken Bucket ... Thanks for the clarification. I was one of the "the few". Sorry for the confusion. The deal on the train crash in 1903 was that they were going to Indy to play the Bucket game. Even then it was a very big deal. I didn't find out why they decided to play the game in Indy that year.
