Unbelievable and sickening that all of you are more concerned about the season and getting to the bottom of this fast to get coach back ASAP. If any of you have daughters, then think about how you would feel if they were one of the victims in this situation. I feel for the team AND I support them 100%, but this is not some small accusation, or even just one accusation. There are MANY. Truthfully, that should be enough for all of you to let it be right now and support Bennie and the players like you say you are. Coach isn’t the man we thought he was, and that’s hugely disappointing, but it’s not your right whatsoever to know exactly what happened. I do have a daughter and would go to jail to protect her. That is why I'd like to see this resolved quickly from all perspectives.

I believe you're painting with a pretty broad brush, saying all of us only care about the rest of the season and just want coach back as soon as possible. On the contrary, I believe the fans on this forum have a lot of sympathy for the victim(s). But as fans of the program, it's only natural to wonder/ worry about what direction Aces basketball is going. You say its not our right to know what is going on, but we're not the ones who made this news public. That would be the university. You can't really expect people to be fed a minimum amount of information, and then not have concerns about how its all going to shake out, and that includes the team, and the victims.

The University has to let the public know if there is a Title IX investigation, but they don’t have to release any further information, so they really didn’t have “a choice” to publicly release that. The details are not your business though, no matter how big of a fan, alumni, or donor you are. I never said it was my business. I was responding to your claim that all of us only care about the basketball, and not the victims. Just because people are still talking about basketball doesn't mean that's all they are concerned about. You said you support the team but evidently if any of us do, we don't care about the victims. Was "nice" of you to repost my comments a few times.

I didn’t mean to reply or quote your post so many times. I apologize to the thread for that. My phone kept hesitating and reposting it. Purplerein, there is a lot of unresolved tensions right now. I felt like you were questioning the integrity of this board. I was defending Aces fans who have legitimate concerns. Most of us are much older than you. Going by your username, I'm guessing you're a student. Just don't be so quick to judge, and good luck to you.

Coach isn’t the man we thought he was, and that’s hugely disappointing, but it’s not your right whatsoever to know exactly what happened. Whoa.... First, I am going to address this with my moderator hat on. I have two very good reasons to delete it. 1. You attacked the entire group inappropriately. 2. We have mandated that gossip and allegations to the guilt be left off of here. You may not have crossed the line, but you certainly are stepping by it with the comments of "MANY" and your alluding to a daughter, and that he isn't the man we thought he was. I am going to let it stand for now, primarily so other posters know what we are responding to, but if any of the other moderators think it crossed the line, and deletes it, I won't question them. There are 4 moderators watching this thread closely, and they all have the green light to delete immediately anything they feel crosses the line. Now I have my poster hat on since I was one of the posters that stated it needs to be resolved quickly. I own it, and I stand behind it 110%. Now go find where I or anyone else on this forum is stating this as concern for wins or losses or that we need all the juicy details. I thought I was pretty clear in my reasoning, but let me expand. Your own post is exactly why I want it done quickly. You have already tried and convicted him based on rumors. While you were screaming at us that we didn't have a right to know the details, did you happen to think that is exactly why it needs to be resolved quickly? We aren't going to know them, nor do I really want to. With that said, we have all sorts of rumors going around. Since this will be decided behind closed doors, the rumors probably will not completely disappear. The longer this goes on, the deeper those rumors get. As a parent of a daughter in her 20's, I can assure you I would want this done as quickly and fairly as possible...and that is only going by your assumption that this involves a younger female. I don't think anyone knows enough to even begin laying it out like that. Resolving this quickly and fairly benefits ALL that are involved.

We don't know the truth right now. Only rumor and innuendo. I feel we need to step back a couple steps, Take a breathe, let the situation play out fully and legally, and First and frontmost support the team. They are hurting a lot more than we are.

I'm not in the "all of you" club you refer to but I have the right to ask anything I want about the situation and they have the right not to tell me. FTR, I don't care to know what happened and I don't care if McCarty comes back or not so I shall not exercise my right to ask what they won't answer so as to refuse them that stubborn joy. I only care about finding a good home (or fair home) for my wife's obnoxious cat while she's at work (the wife, not the lazy mooching cat) and winning the Valley Pickem' Contest so E-Villan doesn't. Don't take it personal for as Shakespeare once wrote, "I do desire that we may be better strangers."

I am at heart not a cat person either, but when I was lounging in my Lazy-Boy, and she would jump in my lap, and just purr, we kind of bonded with a not quite trusting each other attitude. She lived for 23 years, and was just like a member of the family when she died. It affected my wife so much, we have never had another pet. To paraphrase the Bard, I would desire that our whole society may be better friends.

I didn’t mean to reply or quote your post so many times. I apologize to the thread for that. My phone kept hesitating and reposting it. You should apologize to the community for much more than a problem with your phone. You had the opportunity to correspond with two of our community members while you were here. Stennisrm72 and Aceschamps6571 were more than kind to you after you accused them and other members of the community with being "more concerned about the season and getting to the bottom of this fast to get coach back ASAP." Stennis and Aceschamp are perfect examples of what this community is about. Again, you should apologize.

Thanks AtlantaAce. The final thing i will add iga that I've supported the coach, team, athletic department, and the school for over 30 years. I am also an alum, college of engineering, class of '77

Like stennisrm72, I'm an old guy, alum, class of '76, season ticket holder since 1980 and as the emoji points out a former UE football player. We old fans have been through a lot and will back this team and basketball program through all the ups and downs.

I think it’s very important to note here that cats are simply Tiny Tigers; that would eat you for dinner if the sizes were reversed. Cats should never be trusted.
Now that the big issue is resolved; the smaller issue of Coach can be addressed: None of us will likely ever know the truth, so speculate all you want in whichever direction you want, it won’t matter in the end.

Man, if beating me is your objective in the Valley Pickem' Contest, then that is some serious low-hanging fruit. I am pretty sure I was mid-pack at best last year. I thought you were a little more ambitious than that. Good luck with the cat.

Completely agree with E-Villan's response. Could not have said it better. Most of us long time fans and posters on this forum are quite familiar with each other, and has always been a respectful community. I am not quite sure what this "new poster's" thoughts are based upon. The McCarty situation is something that is hanging over all our heads right now, and it being resolved won't come quick enough for any of us.

I remember the future better than the past. Demoralized no doubt, it looks like muni-cup has waved the white flag or gone incognito. I would be happy to console m-cup with a free cat.
