From the Daily Hoosier evaluations of participants at Archie Miller’s team camp at Assembly Hall on June 2019:
Connor Hickman is another guy who can be overshadowed by his better known teammate Anthony Leal, but he is a very talented guard that knocked down a lot of shots on the day that showed strong skills as a ball handler and passer. He clearly has a chance to be a star as an upperclassman and appears destined for Division I.

I like the confidence and toughness. Ability to score is often a little overrated as a HS stat. I'm more impressed with how he plays defense and can contribute within a team concept. Being a teammate with Leal won't hurt either. Even being the #2 in a high level HS program provides a better barometer as to his potential in D1, than if he were a big scorer like Noah was at a smaller HS level. I'll take him in a minute.

It will be interesting to see if he is offered tomorrow. He’s in the Class of ‘21 so there will be a number of scholarships available then.

Totally reminds me of a Butler type of guy. Seems like this an intelligent player who sees the court very well.

Kind of player we should have recruited years and years ago. You can't win in this conference without Point guard play.

We have needed a point guard who can shoot ever since Jaylon Brown graduated. Hopefully Hickman gives UE serious consideration for 2021. In the mean time we need a point guard for next year. Anybody know if Samari can play point?

Exactly the kind of kid Wofford and Furman go after. Hopefully, we get him. We need this kind of grit as we recruit for the future.

I don’t know which came first here, the horse or the cart, but I would say there were some exchanges between Connor and UE coaches to indicate Connor would not be coming to UE. Happens all the time which is why so many offers are extended. Connor will be a good player for Bradley and the Aces will load up with a good group of its own guards.
Evansville has a commitment from Alex Matthews and Chase Garrett is making a visit. Add those to outstanding offers to guards like Jaden Rogers of Fern Creek, KY and we have a pretty good lineup of guards who might be signed in November. I don’t remember the others we are strongly looking at but most have good size for their positions. I think November will be an exciting signing period.

Although Connor decided to go a different route, we also have some VERY talented players who decided to join UE for this year. I think Coach Lick and Logan are doing a phenomenal job of recruiting and getting some great quality young men to consider UE for the future.
