Bingo, Here is a article from Athletic Business on March 26, 2012 by Paul Steinbach "Sprint football is witnessing a growth spurt". The article talks about Franklin Pierce and Mansfield starting a sprint football team. Here is part of the article on Mansfield. "When Mansfield turned to sprint football as a economical and expeditious alternative to its Division II program, which was dismantled after the 2006 season. Steve McCloskey, director of athletic operations, at Mansfield, recalls a meeting with then President Maravene Loeschke, who was visibly distraught after rejecting the 5 year fundraising proposal presented to her by a room full of hulking former Mountaineer lineman at the school. I just said. What if I were to tell you that there is a football league out there that would allow us to start playing football within a year that cost 80% less than Division II football that's better for gender equity and that would have us playing Princeton for homecoming?. She took her head out of her hands and looked at me and said, We can play Princeton ? Even those football players could sense that was it, that was that one thing that met everything she said that had to be met. It had to be affordable and there had to be the opportunity to do it well". In 2019 Franklin Pierce transitioned from sprint football to D2 regular football. With the Midwest Sprint Football League starting up in 2022 this is a perfect time for UE to consider sprint football with plans to transition to regular football in the Pioneer League
But I do honestly need somebody to throw some facts in there with the "80 pct. less". If this is non-scholly football, they still need a field.
