Game started an hr. earlier than UE game. UNI couldn't hit the side of a barn from 3 pt for 30 min, then cut an ISU 20 pt. lead down to 1, losing 67-64 in TH. Green missed a last sec 3 which would've sent into OT.
Green came out pre-game wearing a mask to protect his broken & cut nose (Loyola), but never wore it during the game. He's clearly bothered by the injury when closely guarded.

Box:
Aces can whip the Sycs @ Ford Sunday if they continue to make positive strides...good opportunity for Aces fans to see Domask's closest competition for MVC Frosh of Yr. in ISU's 6'8" Jake LaRavia. ISU plays @ Carbondale next Wed., where MORE could be on the line than just a game.

Today's (Sat. 2/22/20) "Wild & Crazy" MVC Schedule: warrennolan.com/basketball/2020/conf-schedule?conference=Missouri-ValleyThese last 3 games will determine seeding for NEXT WEEK'S kick ass "Arch Madness," where nobody is above the law!Do ya hear that Aces...NOBODY! If ya want it, go get it...none of this "talking to the refs" or "feeling sorry" after a missed defensive assignment/missed shot. When knocked on your ass, get up and DO some "knocking." Your UE heritage & tradition DEMAND it.

Drake ought to have won that game. They seem pretty good when they get the ball inside.

Lethargic production from Penn & Thomas, two primary spark plugs. Drake hasn't been a good road team this season, but few MVC squads have for that matter.
Valpo now up by 9 over Bradley. in your backyard..plenty of time left w/ 10 min, but Crusader 3's are going in from the rafters (14/21)!
Story:
18/28 3's...now that's some HEAT! 90-78 final score.
Arch Madness is up for grabs!

Fazekas makes Valpo very relevant.

Ya, as long as you keep he doors closed so no "wind gusts" disturb his balance. Have you ever noticed how thin his upper torso is? But re: Valpo "relevancy," both he & Kiser are key to their game success. Hard to go wrong when those guarded 3's are pouring in from the "outer limits."
It'll be interesting if ISU's GPS's will be tuned today. If not, UE has a good chance to pull a BIG upset. IMO, I'd have UE call their bluff from the perimeter. If they're not hitting, ISU's "inner confidence" is their own worst enemy. It'll also allow UE to place greater collective effort in preventing inside penetration by LaRavia & T-Williams (ISU's two frosh big men).

I watched some of the Drake at Loyola game last night - a good battle. The stats show Robbins had a good game (13 pts, 10 rebs) but he also had 5 TOs and 5 fouls primarily due to Krutwig, who really made him work. Not really a surprise. Krutwig gives up a few inches but uses his body well and is so solid fundamentally.

That game was "blocked out" on my Sling Orange, so I watched the Valpo destruction of Mo St. w/o Freeman Liberty, who was sick. That young coach of Valpo's has them firing on all cylinders now. Their Saturday game v. ISU will be a good one...not the "slow down" crap you saw in E-ville last weekend. One MAJOR criticism of Lansing is his tendency to let the opposition dictate pace & game flow. ISU is 2nd in the MVC in 3 pt shooting %, so WHY would ya go toe to toe INSIDE v. a squad ranked LAST in 3 Pt % shooting/8th in "D"? LOL
I look for Fazekas & Liberty to have a "field day" in the open court of Hulman Center...
Tonight's ISU @ Carbondale/SIU should be a good one. Sycs won the 1st game.
Aces will have their hands full up in IA tonight. Perhaps A.J. will still be "gun shy" after his broken nose & stitches?

Sickos appear to be a pretty good team after all if they can keep out of foul trouble. I am liking this Jordan Barnes a lot.
