This may be the craziest thing I have ever seen....but I like it. Sometimes ya gotta think of outside the box.

Love it - offer early, stay on him for the next 2 years, and hope he appreciates the early interest and commits as a Junior.

Jaylen is not just a big kid, he’s an athlete. It’s rare to see someone his age at this height who can run the floor like he does with his level of body coordination.
Jaylen will most likely develop as another David Robinson a 7-foot center who plays like a guard. If his basketball skills develop into a high level performer we can only hope this early offer will bare fruit. Coach Rags and his staff may be the best thing to happen to UE basketball since Arad McCutcheon.

I think Ziggy has a lot to do with the game plan the basketball program is showing in how it is recruiting. We are not just seeing this with the men's basketball program as the women are doing the same thing. Should be interesting how the spring sports change things up. All I can say is what a "HUGE BREATH OF FRESH AIR" since the departure of Spencer. Nothing good was ever going to come out of that guy being our AD and not much good did come out of his tenure, more negatives than positives imho. Enough said about the past, time to keep looking forward. Go Aces. Future sure looks a light brighter than it did six months ago.

Some of you may like this. But this right here is what’s wrong in the recruiting world, for all sports.

The fact that he volunteered to coach a team in this day and age is amazing. His knowledge of the sport and an ability to teach it to young players including Jaylen Mitchell should be applauded.

Nothing in this thread shouts out systemic recruiting violations.

Not even close to what I am saying. Ok. What are you saying? Nothing in this thread shouts out systemic recruiting violations. Not saying there is a violation. I was talking about recruiting in general for all sports. No way should 14 year old kids, who haven't even stepped foot in a high school should be receiving offers. They can get a verbal offer at any time but a basketball coach is not allowed to talk to kid until summer going into junior year(June 15th after sophomore year).
