Do we know why Davis is out today? Not on the bench but still on the roster. I'd guess it's Covid.

<button disabled="" class="c-attachment-insert--linked o-btn--sm">Attachment Deleted</button>Meltdown for UE and some luck for ISUr "Some" luck would be putting it mildly. I agree that some luck is actually earned. That was excessive, although doing a bit more rebounding would be useful. 44 is a lot of rebounds. 24 is not very many

Do we know why Davis is out today? Announcers said she's in protocol before the opening tip. Assume she'll be back in the next game or two

ISUr was way over their heads on the stat sheet. They normally shoot 46% FG and 34% 3"s. Today they were 56% FG and 80% 3's.

Turn the oven off on this one. A C-minus effort combined with a team had more luck than talent. I wouldn't give them a C-minus on effort. A lot just didn't go right for them and yes ISUr had quite a bit of luck. Another step along the learning curve.

I imagine we will see a number of games like this before the season is over. The Aces have too many players who really can't shoot the ball on a consistent basis, and their rebounding, and defense in the paint are sub MVC play. Coach RSW is the right coach, and will have the Aces contending for a Valley title, it just won't be this year.

Considering a lot of recruiting was done to patch a big hole in the dam, there's a lot to like. Three of these players are frosh. I think the turnover next year is still minimal. I was willing to settle for 'competitive' and today's game was -- for about 25 minutes. ISU just reached into the Cracker Jack box and found some bonus luck. No way does a girl toss up a series of 40-footers and blindly connect on all of them. I honestly don't care if she is a good 3-point shooter. Some of their 2nd chance shots were look-what-I-found. But the Aces are very sloppy on the boards.

I just caught the last quarter. Yes, you can blame me for this. At the end of the game, it looked like the Illinois State coach called RSW over, and it didn't appear to be a friendly conversation. Any ideas what that was about?

Any ideas what that was about? I watched the whole game except for maybe that part of it. The Birds kicked their butts, and it was a pretty scrappy game, although cleanly played. If there was sniping, it wasn't obvious. The cameras on the coaches didn't even suggest much angst. Officiating was lazy but that had nothing to do with the easy layups they got on 2nd chance rebounds.

Maybe a bit of a let down after the big W vs Bradley? Plus two games in a short span with missing player(s) makes it tough. Either way, the ladies program is more exciting and more on the up and up than the men's team imho.
