UNI 5 ISUb 4 Loyola 3 Drake 2 Bradley 1 I took a page out of Sir Whiskersface's book and traveled to the future. These were going to be his picks, but then he traveled to the future to see this post and switched his picks. But then he realized this was an attempt to get him to overthink his picks so he went back to this. Lock it in. Sir Whiskers vowed to not time travel until after he received the coveted Pickem' trophy. But them db1972 did a dirty dog and time traveled which negated the vow. So Whiskers traveled to the future and sat behind db1972 at the Bradley/Missouri State game. Thinking that Bradley had the game in the bag Dirty Dog DB left the game early to beat the time travel traffic. Mistake. The Bears won at the buzzer. Worse, DB left his sticky cotton candy mess all over the seat and several Juicy Juice boxes on the floor. Not cool. Four of these games would qualify for a value of 5 so the numbers don't much matter. Of note, Classy Sir Whiskers pulled the random numbers out of a Borsalino Bogart fur felt fedora just to entertain himself. Indiana State 2 Northern Iowa 4 Missouri State 1 Loyola 5 Drake 3 I hear ya. I wanted to give more than one game a 5.

Indiana State 2 Northern Iowa 4 Missouri State 1 Loyola 5 Drake 3 I knew you would break your oath not to time travel if you caught wind of my nefarious intentions. Fortunately, I was smart enough to reprogram your time machine to send you to an alternate timeline wherein Missouri St. pulled off a buzzer-beating comeback. While you were laughing at my uncleanliness, I was busy taking my winnings to the bank. Until next MVC gameday, worthy foe...

While you were laughing at my uncleanliness, I was busy taking my winnings to the bank. Until next MVC gameday, worthy foe... Curses! Hacked again! Well, that's what it takes to nearly beat Sir Whiskers of Purpleshire. Then again, Sir Whiskers knew that the Round 5 future seemed too 2021ish to be 2020ish, the arena was filled with iPhone 12s instead of 11s. Db1972 was still using a flip phone, of course, but still, dead giveaway. It was quite obvious that there was tampering of the PA-1522 Ultra Time Machine, peanut butter and jelly fingerprints all over the doodad dial. Ever the opportunist, Sir Whiskers went along with the devilish ploy knowing that it was to be a laughable, temporary and tiny setback. In his Pickem' Playbook, this technique is known as the Intentional False Hope Round, not to be confused with the Rope-a-Dope Round (that comes later).

Easiest the highest scoring round in the history of this contest. 12 people had perfect scores of 15, while another 10 of us had 14. That is 22 out of 25 who played with scores of 14 or 15. Obviously the Bradley-Missouri State game was the only one where we had any kind of variance in the votes. Believe it or not, the Aces still got a couple of homer votes.
Here are the Round 5 results:

That Bradley game was a tough one. I must have changed my mind on that one five, or six times, but finally went with the home team.
