If the dirty Birds do what they did against the Aces on Day 2, yeah ... that being, throw it up there and if it goes in you can trot back on defense. Today, they threw up a few clunkers, though that big tree Mahocic gets away with murder in the post. Valpo was better against that press than the Aces were.

Valpo wins again 70-66. I give up. Valpo must be better than I give them credit for, and Ill. ST. must be worse. I guess we are the only team they can beat, which as it turns out was a very bad loss for the Aces.

Don't forget, Illinois State pounded Bradley just a few days ago.

Valpo played to the back of their 'baseball card' but so did Ill. State.
The Redbirds are not very good and the games they win depend on whether the rainbows they throw up there are falling. They live on luck only.
That said, the Mahocic guy in the middle is a pretty nice find for them, though he's not a good fit for that system. I would love the guy at Evansville in a more controlled game.
I don't think the Aces will fare as well against Valpo as we originally thought. Sackey is better than Shamar and Frikke is better than anybody we put down inside. Clay is all-conference potentially.

I had pretty much penciled in a couple of Aces wins against Valpo, but now I'm not so sure. If you use some of Ill. St.'s luck, and our rainbows fall in the basket, then we might be able to win, if not, then we may be in for a lot of trouble. It all depends on which Aces team shows up on that day. If we can't beat Valpo, and at least split with Ind. St., then we probably don't deserve to be out of the Thursday game, and probably won't be.

Here are the YTD standings after Round 10. Whiskers widened his lead, primarily due to goacesgo, who had been running in 2nd, taking a hard fall in Round 10. Not sure of the severity of the fall, but did hear an announcement looking for a rifle. db1972 is making some noise in the pack with a perfect score in Round 10. Has he been saving his energy for a back half sprint?
