A genius walks into a bar and says, "Northern Iowa 5 Southern Illinois 4 Drake 3 Missouri State 2 Evansville 1" Your right on target so far, Genius. LOL He basically copied my picks, I think he knows he's met his match this year

Your right on target so far, Genius. LOL He basically copied my picks, I think he knows he's met his match this year LOL! "Basically?" Either I copied them or I didn't. Copies can't differ by definition. I do know what it will take to copy your picks before you release them. Wait on the Vegas odds to be released and then extrapolate 1 through 5 from them. Four games occurred a day before Vegas released the odds for the the Aces game so you issued a nervous guess. Bradley is a 2 point favorite and you prematurely picked the Aces so your system showed it's weakness. If all 5 games were played on the same day you would have picked Bradley. Whenever possible, Vegas Odds equals db1972. It will be possible Saturday when all 5 Round 4 games are played and all Vegas odds are released at the same time. I will say that religiously sticking with Vegas odds will keep you near the top. It is a good second place strategy and I hope you continue to hold it dear. But, FYI, Vegas strives to keep the money close to equal on both sides of the bet. Essentially it is just an aggregate of the opinions of bettors and you know what they say about opinions. In Round 3, I made my picks in pencil on Sunday hours before you had your morning coffee and frantic search for Vegas guidance. I will pencil in my Round 4 picks tomorrow morning. My Round 3 picks had Bradley beating the Aces and then I learned that Elijah Childs, Bradley's leading scorer and rebounder, preseason MVC 2nd Team pick and basically their Deandre Williams, re-injured his hand and underwent surgery. Those are huge shoes to fill but I'm still not sure Bradley will lose, hence the value of 1. Sam the F-Bomber may be sitting in the proverbial corner during most if not all of the game. But win or lose, you will only keep your precarious 1 point lead over me. Can you and Vegas ride it to the finish line? Perhaps Muni-cup has the answer you are looking for. Good luck, my friend.

Tom, if this is your only game this round, why not go for the full 5? What have you got to lose?

Tom, if this is your only game this round, why not go for the full 5? What have you got to lose? Unfortunately, it's against the rules - since there is only one game left I technically used 2-5 on those games and missed them. The only number I have left is the 1.
Year end close at work is rough...thankfully today is the last day.

That was mostly said in jest, but it looks like I touched a nerve. While I would be lying if I said that Vegas odds didn't play into my decision, even the most cursory evaluation of my picks would reveal it is far from the only factor. If Vegas odds are my God, why did I pick Missouri State at 3 confidence when they were 2.5 point underdogs on the road? And you're a fool if you think that odds on the Evansville game hadn't been released before I posted my picks on Tuesday. I look forward to the remainder of this competition and knocking you off your high horse where you seem to think that truly no one has the same knowledge of Valley basketball as you.

You didn't touch a nerve. My nerve can't be touched, even the dentist trainee at the free clinic said so. Not even John U. Albothepurple, a mean and ornery sidewinder who chases handicapped kids off his lawn and never uses a grocery divider or returns his shopping cart to the designated area, could touch my nerve. I was voted Most Happy-Go-Lucky in my therapy group for three weeks running. And I don't ride a high horse. I ride a Shetland pony, one of the shorter ones and better than any Shetland pony that ever acted like a tiny stubborn mule around the likes of you. I can assure you of that. But that is not why I replied. Contrary to your bony finger-pointing assertion, I do not believe I know more than anyone else about Valley basketball. Couteau knows more and maybe one or two others who are too obscure to remember. I do have a secret that I can keep no longer. I cheat. I am a time traveler. I know how the season ends. Don't worry, I won't spoil it for you. I also know how the Valley Pickem' Ends. I win by a country mile and kyace comes in a distant 2nd. No one cares about 3rd to Infinity so I won't bore you any longer. In March, kyace and I will be celebrating our 1-2 finish at a kale smoothie bar and I hope you will join us and pick up the tab. Message me, we are willing to work with you on a time.

I guess there really isn't a hard-fast rule on this. I do hate to see someone get knocked way back by missing a few picks. I am ok with letting posters pick points on any game that hasn't been played that round, just can't repeat like usual. I will let the voices that respond before tip decide this.

As a time traveler, I feel compelled to alert you. Something basketbally and noteworthy will happen at the 14:32 mark in the 1st Half. I may be off by a second or two, I have fifth dimension jet lag.

I think missing picks being worth minimum value is fair. Missing games is punishment enough as it is.
