Hello Aces, I just made two new blog posts. One is the standard power rankings and tidbits for week 9. The other is "Every MVC School's Most Famous Basketball Alum". The Evansville rep is Jerry Sloan. I also included an addendum for other famous alums at each school. Please let me know which ones I missed. I really enjoyed researching this one. www.missourivalleybeat.com/

I really enjoyed researching this one. www.missourivalleybeat.com/I added a couple of names here and there, and I think it depends on how 'famous' somebody needs to be inside any arena. As trivia goes, I have Willie Glen's autograph. Who's that? Willie pitched for the Aces and became a pro. During the 2005-6-7 season, he was the ace for the staff of the Gary-SS RailCats of the old Northern League (which morphed into the American Association.) Willie was, at the time, unbeatable and a few of us decided we thought the RailCats should retire his number. It took us 5 years and the team agreed in 2017. The night they did the ceremony, Willie was signing commemorative posters, so I had him sign mine as a fellow UE grad. I told him, and this is a fact: I have two sports autographs in my collection. Just two. Willie Glen and Johnny Bench Glen retired with the franchise's record for most innings pitched (544), wins (43), strikeouts (494), games started (86) and opponent's average against (.224). He also holds the single-season record for wins (12, tied with two others) and strikeouts (162 in 2007).

What did Glen say about being in that exclusive club with Johnny Bench? He asked me who Johnny Bench was. Seriously, he is an extremely nice man. His maturity in the league at that time was the difference for him on the mound. He gave up a few home runs and turned around and made fools of the next 5 guys to face him.

I've started looking forward to Tuesday nights where I get to sit down and read the power rankings. Takes me 15 minutes to read it, so I have to imagine it takes you much longer to write it!
Please keep it up! You give at least one old Aces fan something to look forward to during the week between games.

Nice work as usual. I think the top 4 teams in the Valley would be well-positioned in the tournament in any seed higher than 14. I like Indiana State more than Mo. State now.

I see that I get a pretty good amount of views, but I love to hear from people who are actually reading it (which doesn't happen very often)!

Nice work again. To be honest, I always wished I had a decent mid-major football team to root for. I love small-college football, and all I have around here is Valpo, which might have the worst football team in all the land.
As for their colors, if they'd scrap the brown, I could live with the gold.

You are literally the only person on all of the boards that does haha.
