I love the fact that we have a former player of her caliber on staff. Hopefully a Kathy Bennett clone. Having said that, great players don't necessarily make good coaches. Bring back Fahkara Malone and let's see how it goes.

An impressive hire for sure. A win/win I would think. She gets to coach at a D1 school right out of the gate and stay close to home. And hopefully for UE she will be able to raise the bar, the level of play and recruits.

I think this hire is great. She has my vote. I can see her being the head coach in a very short amount of time and could follow in the success of Kathy and Trish. If she coaches and works at it like she played, she will be fantastic for UE.

What happened to Karyla Middlebrook? I guess she took the fall for the horrible season? I thought both she and Pacholke showed more leadership ability than the head coach. I was hoping to see one of them promoted to the head position this year.

This announcement is from a month ago (8/20). The women’s team has rounded out their coaching staff with graduate assistant coach, Felicia Aiyeotan. Women's Basketball adds Felicia Aiyeotan as graduate assistant gopurpleaces.com/news/2020/8/20/womens-basketball-adds-felicia-aiyeotan-as-graduate-assistant.aspxShe had an impressive career at the University of Virginia: “...A standout student-athlete at University of Virginia, Aiyeotan compiled 430 points in three seasons with the Cavaliers, while recording a program record 140 blocks. During her time at UVa, Aiyeotan was named the the ACC all-Defensive team in 2017-18 after finishing the season as the ACC leader in blocked shots (2.09 per game). A native of Lagos, Nigeria, Aiyeotan competed for the Nigerian U16 national team and played for Neumann Goretti High School (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Blair Academy (N.J.) during her prep career.” Interested to get everyone’s opinion on the latest addition to the Lady Aces coaching staff. Obviously Tyra Buss was viewed as a great hire. This latest hire would appear to help with recruiting quality interior players. Although it is a graduate assistant, which may not have quite the same impact as a straight up assistant coach but does give her the chance to prove herself. Thoughts?

Good for her. I really thought her background and involvement with the team warranted her being retained. You can't blame her for the utter incompetence of her head coach. I know her and Tyra were also tight, which makes me wonder if that had anything to do with Tyra taking off. RSW has a right to a complete break, and to build her staff as she wishes. I support that, but I also wish both Kaitlynn and Tyra the absolute best in all they do. They were the bright spots of an otherwise dark period for the program.

Tyra started thinking in early may that maybe she didn't want to take this job after all, I believe she heard about a job opportunity that is in Wisconsin, because she is very into her current relationship with UW 5th year senior brad davison lol. She just didn't tell the coaches or administrators at evansville since they bent over backwards to insure that she would have a job here..which is why they had a release saying she was staying on..she didn't tell anyone she kinda didn't want to anymore..until about 2 weeks ago. Wish her the best! But here we need to get people that are fully committed to wanting to make evansville wbb relevant in the mvc! It is a shame, because if she had known she wasn't going to want this assistant position, they may have kept katelyn on staff, but we will never know for sure. I'm so happy to see she found a landing spot! Wish both of them the best

Buss now on the UW Milwaukee roster as an assistant. Now will be able to see her boyfriend constantly. Don't see that guy getting a whole lot of love from the internet right now, haha.

Tyra will go as far as she chooses to go in the coaching profession. She is a woman of incredible character and work ethic. As in all cases, “sometimes life gets in the way,” but don’t be surprised if she is a D1 head coach by the time she is 30.
