He has started receiving interest from #Vanderbilt, Cincy, #Xavier, Akron, and Eastern Kentucky. He has already visited Western Kentucky and Evansville. He plans on taking visits to Cincy, Xavier, and Akron.

He certainly won’t be missing many of those 2 foot shots we were notorious for last year.

To me he appears to be much more advanced offensively than Kiyron Powell was as a senior. The question is how is his defense? But with his athletic ability and foot movement defense can be taught with good coaching. Most HS stars are weak defensively to protect them from fouling out so I’m not too concerned as an incoming senior.
One thing that makes me happy is that he did visit UE already.

I would think he would be an extreme long shot to be an Ace. I would think coach Cal would be on him like stink on you know what.

Seems odd that Evansville hasn't offered him yet, particularly after he visited. Little question he is a prime recruit. You never know what a kid is looking for, but glad Evansville has reached out.

They may not have offered in the hopes of not scaring off a big man to fill the DW scholarship.

Sekou is the type of player we just don’t see at UE. He would be a legitimate star and game changer for us. However, even though he took a visit to UE, I don’t feel comfortable in seeing him in an Aces uniform. I hope I’m really wrong about this but I won’t put a chip next to his name. The only ray of light is the commitment of Makur Maker just last week. He’s a 6-11 five star ranked somewhere between the #10 and #15 player in the nation who committed to Howard University in Washington DC.
Makur was born in Kenya, grew up in Australia and went to prep schools in California before transferring to play his senior year at Hillcrest Prep here in Phoenix. I remember reading that one of the main reasons he chose Howard was the coaches and his belief he could elevate Howard to the highest level of college basketball for years to come. Hopefully we can cultivate a similar feeling with Sekou towards UE.

Kalle has so much upside - a complete game changer if Evansville could land him. The potential that comes from a front line of Sisley, Hall, and Kalle would be as imposing as any UE team has had in decades.

According to a Tweet today, UE has been back in touch with Kelle. However, more big schools have been showing interest too. Hopefully our early involvement will pay off.

Coaches can't guarantee a guy playing time, but there is no one in his way that would keep him from being a starter as a freshman. My hope is that the coaching staff will show him the advantages in coming here. If anything, though, hopefully by staying in touch Evansville will know where they stand and act accordingly.
