From the stats and highlights - you can already tell he's far and away an upgrade over Peace. At least now we have someone who does have some size, who could play. Whether he is able to do that much in the MVC is yet to be seen, but is it certainly better than relying on Peace. We have a pretty dire history with JUCO big men. Hopefully he can give us some quality minutes at center. I kept trying to decide if I want to rely on Peace or Warren Peace.

Nice pickup...is Buse still in the neighborhood to assist w/ acclimating the new Dutchman? Maybe give him a tour of nearby "Holland?"

Still like this guy and his ceiling; however, I also noticed he has three times as many turnovers as assists - so that is definitely an area that he needs to work on. Coach Lick is big on protecting the ball (as he should be). So I would guess he needs to improve this area if he wants to see meaningful minutes on the court. Note: For a rule of thumb you would like for a guard to have about two assists per turnover. For a big man, this ratio would likely be lower but 1:3 is still really bad. For additional reference, Shamar was the best on the team at taking care of the ball at nearly 3:1 where Sam was the worst at nearly 1:2; so that is an area that Sam needs to work on as well. And again Iyen is 1:3 so he really needs to work on valuing the ball. You have to wonder what types of turnovers they were. I'm thinking that offensive could could be a big part of fun and you know how big guys have a tendency to get the ball stripped in the paint. I believe those things can easily be corrected.

Also more turnovers with a run and gun offense which is more prevalent in JUCO ball. How many were charged against him when a pass recipient turned the wrong way. I wish there was more video available but come November we will see it real time.

If you go to YouTube and enter his junior college there are some complete game videos, and from what I have watched he is talented and they do have a run and gun offense.

I know UE and the coaches cannot comment until all of the paperwork is done and the LOI is signed but wondering if anyone like Chad can provide any insight as to why Iyen is not listed on the roster.
I realize it might not be possible to find out anything but I figured it didn’t hurt to reach out and ask. (Note: There was some discussion/speculation on this a couple of weeks ago.)
This guy appears to have a good upside and we obviously need a big guy.

I'd speculate that it's simply a Covid-19 thing associated w/ online learning last Spring. Let's keep our fingers crossed, as the upside on this recruit holds significant value to next season's inside game.

We all know how other JUCO's have often times turned out for the Aces. However, as much as I already know how video highlights of a player can be very deceptive, it seems easy (at least to me) that he has some game to him. I suspect right off the bat he won't be able to leap over Kuhlman for the starting center position, but I am hopeful he will play about 20 minutes a game.

Whew! That is great news! Very encouraging.
Now I guess the anticipation switches to who the new assistant coach(es) will be added to the staff.

I believe the new assistants will be named later next month.
Excited about both Enaruna and Alex. I am hopeful they will make immediate impact for the Aces.
