Of all the players on the team Bobe was not on my list for the belt. However he did play tough defense on Stafford even though he got 15 points which was second highest. I will admit that without Bobe’s defense we would have lost the game. Congrats to Bobe.

A road win in the Valley by our Aces is great no matter who it is against. Nice to have Ben back even though he is not nearly 100% physically.
I think now that we have been in Valley play for more than a month now we are seeing a big difference between the top 3 teams in the league and the bottom group. What I cannot figure out is Murray State and UNI. They are so unpredictable at home and on the road. UNI is not athletic but finds ways to win some games on the road they should not but then they get buried on their home court against a team they beat on the road. Murray looks like the best team in the league at times on the road (vs UE and UNI) and then they lose at home to lower tier teams. Glad I do not spend a lot of my time trying to win money on these games for a living or even for fun for that matter.
Either way, great to win three in a row in The Valley. We need Ben to get back to 100% asap because we have a rough schedule the rest of the way with games vs the top four teams in the league in February.
Go Aces !

Great team win, so many weapons this year compared to last yr. Toumi, Hughes, Cuff, Thomas, and Kenny all played awesome games.
We have a home game vs each of the top 3 teams, we need to win one of those and then pick up a couple of others. I would say 17-14 (8-12) would be a great jump for this year.

We do have a tough home schedule remaining so it would be nice to be competitive and possibly steal 1 or 2 games away from these top teams. If we can get Ben 100% healthy I can see 1 or 2 wins.

Well, it wasn’t the prettiest win, but it was a win. As of this moment, we sit as the 8 seed (tiebreaker with Belmont and the birds), and actually, just 2 games back for fourth. Anything can happen now.

I don't plan to post here much since I don't enjoy the bickering, but I will evaluate Saturday's game -- mostly because actual attendance at games gives unique perspectives.
1. The ARC needs to replace all its bleachers. If they did that, they'd fix some of their attendance problems. It's still a very difficult place for visiting teams to play. The band is loud -- but one of the worst pep bands I've ever heard. They played the national anthem on a recording. In the past, they've had actual singers. At least they had a decent student turnout. I've seen a lot worse from them. 2. The game was, in my judgment, basketball as it should be played -- the refs didn't turn it into a free throw shooting exhibition, which is to UE's benefit. I appreciate that in an era when playing to contact is a strategy and not an anomaly. Except for Toumi, none of the players had to sit out with fouls. 3. B-Hum was playing more on adrenaline than skill. I think he wanted to put the team on his back early in the 2nd half. He isn't that player even if he tries. If that ever happens ...... wow. Kalle has played himself onto the bench, which is too bad. If he was a tad bit better, he'd be the straw that stirs the drink. Bailey is too quick for the refs, who called a couple of violations on him because he did something they'd never seen. Thomas doesn't get enough love. 4a. Gage Bobe is identifiably living on dedication and determination. If the world did that, we'd be doing all right. 4b.
That's all I intend to offer here, and as soon as it's baseball season -- I will quote Arnold: Oink.

With having those big home games vs. the Top 3 teams, I'm hoping we can get some huge crowds at the Ford. I noted that Murray State had some kind of competition recently with the frats/sororities in attendance. Maybe Logan could generate some kind of fun competition between the UE frats/sororities that would involve their attendance at the game? Maybe a financial donation ($100) to the winning group at the game? Could be something creatively planned for halftime. Just throwing an idea out there to get the UE students to attend.

Definitely a good win for the team - it seems like an eternity since we won a road game. Lot's of tough games coming up - hopefully we can keep it going!
it's going to take a much better offensive showing to beat team like ISU, Bradley and Drake - especially from our shooting guards - at home but we are at least in a position now where we could make a push for the middle of the pack with some upsets, which is good. I really liked the hustle and effort on Saturday - Very gritty effort from everyone on the defensive end. So many blocks and deflections. I will say Bobe did a good job defensively. Stafford is a good match up with Bobe cause Bobe stayed in front of him well and made him shoot jumpers.

I see where the Valpo player (Dairus Deaveiro) that missed the FT was an 83% FT shooter (35-42) on the year. We dodged a bullet there. Sometimes it is better to be lucky. Any W on the road is a great win for us. Valpo Stats
