No doubt having a healthy Ben really helps us and changes our play a bunch for the better but I think we need him just to be competitive on the road in this conference. We will have our hands more than full at home with our remaining games all vs teams higher than us in the standings. I honestly hope we can find 3 or 4 more wins the rest of the way. Maybe I am being too pessimistic.
Either way, enjoying the two win's in a row for now. Maybe we can make it three after our game at Valpo this weekend. Things get tougher down the final month of the season.
Go Aces !

So do we have Ben for another year or is he done. As I stated before, I asked him this question before the season at Meeks Madness. It is in that thread, but in the interest of time, I’ll state again that he told me that he still has a Covid year. His class is the last class to receive the extra year.

We are currently 13-9, 4-7 in conference.
We won five games total last year. We have a great chance of winning more conference games than that this year especially with Ben back. We also have a great chance (with Ben back) to be .500 or better for the year and possibly make some noise in St. Louis. So we are definitely heading in the right direction heading down the stretch.
Next year if we can keep the core together with players like Ben, Tanner, Josh, Chuck, etc coming back and some quality incoming recruits, I would like to see us target 20+ wins and being able to compete with the top MVC teams like ISU, Drake and Bradley. No more 20+ losses. And hopefully a shot at some postseason tournament.
First let’s see what this team can do. They might even surprise us on how good their ceiling can be.

I have come to learn to not get to excited about recruits,Braylon Jackson is a prime example. I never had any expectations for Braylon coming in. I think he will develop into a very solid player for us, but nothing about his recruitment made me think he would be an immediate impact player as a freshman like Chuck. I agree it’s hard to tell on recruiting commitments though. If I’m being honest, I wasn’t excited about snagging Ben Humrichous from an NAIA school either, and he’s one of our best players in the last decade. I do think we’re 1-2 pieces and a little offseason development for the returners from being really good. Hopefully the staff can make it happen. There will likely he a lot of turnover in the MVC this offseason between graduating talent, Coaches leaving programs, and transfers. I think we could see ourselves missing Thursday next year if we have a strong recruiting offseason.

UIC W VALPO+ W BRADLEY W MURRAY STATE+ DRAKE ILLINOIS STATE+ UIC+ SIU INDIANA STATE BELMONT+
+denotes away games
5th place would require the Aces to win 5 of the 7 games left. Wins at MSU, ILS, UIC, SIU and Belmont will get them there. These are winnable games. If you get Drake or INS would be icing on the cake Probable maybe not
Just an opinion...

I believe that every game is winnable but there's a lot involved in that. They have to come out ready to play every game and keep their head in it.

If we don't take down the nets at ArchMadness, a few more wins should get us an invite to the CBI tournament that was held in Daytona last year.

Both are Juniors. You had to be in college in 20-21 to get a Covid year. Their freshman year was 21-22. Sekous last year is next year and Tanner got a medical redshirt last year so he technically has two more years left.
