I would like for UE to pick up the Hatton kid on a transfer portal. One game I think he had 17 rebounds It's kind of up to the player to want to get into the portal first. I kind of disagree here.Im sure you have a lot of assistant coaches contacting players once the season ends.

Per NCAA rules a player needs to receive written permission from their current school to talk with other coaches (about things like transferring). Here's some other basic transfer rules: www.ncaa.org/news/2019/8/20/what-to-know-about-division-i-transfers.aspx

I think the biggest thing to be encouraged about is we didn't really play that well, didn't shoot well from 3 and had a really bad first half. But yet still won by 9 points on the road against a team where the big guy was virtually unstoppable and another guy had a career game. Re. the comments about Ben. Teams are going to try and double team him to take him away and I think he did a good job of not trying to force things. I really would like to see more of him, Cuff, and Hughes on the low block and in the mid post cause I think teams are going to have problems guarding all three of those guys. Probably Strawbridge as well. We've had a lot of good success with that - either them scoring in the post or kicking it out for an open shot, or a back door cut. It's a good offensive attack.

I agree with your assessment. It’s hard to believe that Hughes is a freshman and Cuff really doesn’t have very many college basketball minutes.

Strawbridge needs to keep to his 10 foot shots and not 3s.But then again as a team we are not a good 3 point shooting team

Strawbridge needs to keep to his 10 foot shots and not 3s.But then again as a team we are not a good 3 point shooting team Haffner was brought in to help us in this area and he has not gotten it done. To me, this has been the largest disappointment thus far from an individual perspective. Overall the team has improved quite a bit which is great but again this is one area we must be better at. Bailey has been up and down from 3. I like Ben shooting more 3s and even Cuff has shown he can hit them. Toumi and Strawbridge should never take a 3. At home Bobe has shown some promise. I would expect them to pack the paint and force us to make the 3 point shots.

I think Haffner has a really good shot - I think he is just struggling with getting his shot off, leaning what a good shot is, and learning the speed/physicality of the game. There is major difference between the OVC and the MVC. I think the coaches believe in him and have seen him really play well in practice which is why he is starting. Once he adjusts to the speed of the game I think he will be a very good shooter. He is the only guy on the team that has shown an ability to shoot the ball off a screen, which isn't done that much anymore but there are times where it is needed. The biggest thing for him is he needs to calm down, and not try to rush things as much as he is. When he takes good shots he's shot pretty well. It's the bad shots he's missed. He's also done a nice job on cuts to the basket in my opinion. He probably needs to do more of that and try to get to the foul line that might get him going. If we get the ball into the lane like I said in the earlier post when these other guys posting up he's going to get shots.

Agree with this. Big difference between MVC and OVC for sure so life may be tough for a while as we have only played two MVC games thus far. I would think against a team like Bellarmine he would have had a bigger game, but he needs the minutes to do that too. I think as time goes on this year things will improve and for sure the next couple of years. I would much rather him be taking 3 point shots than Toumi and Strawbridge given their percentages and looking at their form.

I agree with the MVC vs OVC assessment. Haffner's defense seems to be a part of the problem. Maybe his lack of offense is affecting his defense. Unpopular opinion... I am not sure Bobe is not a better option if Haffner cannot get his shot off (even though, I am not sure both combined justify 20 minutes).
