Two 3-0 teams square off in what should be a very good game. BSU's two "main" players are #1 Jalin Anderson (6'3" junior transfer from Loyola Marymount) and #11 Basheer Jihad (6'9" 239 lbs). Everything runs through Jalin and even when he is locked down, he will find a way to get open for a 3 on a pass from a teammate. Basheer seems to be a dominant player when he is on the court but has struggled with foul trouble early this year. In the little bit of the Old Dominion/BSU game that I saw he didn't appear to get up the court as fast as some of our guys. Basheer in just 21.3 mpg is averaging 15 ppg and 5 rbg. They have a handful of other quality players that include Mickey Pearson Jr and their own 6'4" Bailey (Davion Bailey). That could make it interesting for the announcers. They also have some quality backup big men in Ben Hendriks (6'10" 239) and Zane Doughty (6'9" 224). So, this could be the first game that our bigs are tested a little bit with players of similar size and skill. I think this is a winnable game for us but will be a real test. I expect BSU to be favored. BSU plays very good defense and has a knack for causing turnovers. So, I expect taking care of the ball will be a key for us in what is likely to be a close game. - 6'3" Jalin Anderson is the catalyst for BSU and leads BSU in scoring (19.7 points per game), rebounding (5.7), assists (2.3), field goal shooting (64.7 percent) and 3-point shooting (50 percent) among those putting up at least three shots per game. His field goals made (22) ranks No. 51 and scoring average ranks No. 72 in Division I so far this year, and both marks are second in the MAC.
- Ball State ranks in the Top 10 nationally in turnover margin (+12.3, fourth), turnovers forced per game (21.0, eighth) and scoring defense (53.0 points per game, 10th).

aces44, what is Vegas saying about tomorrow's game? Thanks! Vegas usually won’t release official lines until the evening the night before a game, so not out yet, but their lines are usually pretty close to Kenpom predictions. Kenpom says Ball State wins 73-72, so probly UE +1 or a pickem for the game tomorrow and a total around 145. I think we can all agree it’s Aces moneyline time again.

Not sure what Vegas says yet, but I’ll try to watch some BSU this evening and let you know how I’ll play it tomorrow The Old Dominion/Ball State game is the game to watch (as their other two wins were over Goshen and Oakland City - kind of our Wabash and UHSP games if you will). I caught about the first 8-10 minutes of that game and included that in my comments in the opening thread. Note: Ball State beat Goshen by 61 points and Oakland City by 41 points and Old Dominion by 5 points. Looking forward to other's scouting reports.

Ball State message board thinks the game will be close but some question where their offense will come from outside of Jalin (#1). Direct link to the UE game thread is posted in the opening post.

I am surprised the all-time series is as lopsided in our favor as it is, 40-16. We must have avoided them like the plague during the Majerus years. We should play them every year regardless. They are typically a solid program with a lot of regional interest, especially with Lewis being from Jasper.
There is a link to their MBB Record Book in that thread that was interesting to comb through. Here is the current series as it stands today.
At BSU: UE leads 16-14 At UE: UE leads 24-2 At Worthen Arena: UE leads 2-1

I view Ball St. and Western KY as our most natural non con rivals since Butler thinks they've moved to the next level. But Ball St. gets the nod for me, being in-state. Hope we continue the series for a long time.

I’m watching ODU Ball State replay right now. Locking down Jalin Anderson is definitely the key to the game. If we can contain him, we likely win imo. I think we will have a massive advantage in the paint. Their interior defense has not impressed me so far and I think we should definitely have the rebounding advantage. If we can defend the 3 point line and contain Anderson, we should win this game imo.

ODU had 30 points in the paint with 0 assists in the first half of their game against Ball State. That is a wild stat. I am expecting another big game from Toumi and Humrichous.

Saw Antonio posted something similar about filling the ford. Hope we can give this team the home court advantage they deserved. I went to the downtown event today and got 4 free tickets so I can drag my extended family to the game. Saw another big group of purple when I was down there briefly. Hopefully everyone that could took advantage and plans to attend. This team deserves as good of attendance as the McCarty teams got
