If we’re going to be successful and play the way Rags says he wants to play (tough defense), there’s no way we give up 77 to SEMO. I believe in Rags getting this team to buy in and give a good defensive effort every night. Time to lock in that under

I know it's early in the year, but if we don't win by 10 or more this could be another looooong year I’d love a big victory, but considering how god awful we’ve been on the road the last 10 years, I think we should be happy with any kind of victory in this game as the road underdogs. We lost to this team at home last year so going on the road and winning is a definite sign of progress.

I agree, i will be happy with a 1 point victory, remember this will be the first D-1 road game for a number of our players getting minutes.

They don’t have a thread open for the UE game on the SEMO message board. I guess they’re not very excited about this game. csnbbs.com/forum-81.htmlUpdate: They now have a game thread open as of a few minutes ago. csnbbs.com/thread-981223.htmlThey think they will win by high single digits. Their logic is that we haven’t played anyone and that they have played two very good teams (Grand Canyon University and Butler). So we’re going to have to earn respect.

KenPom Rankings as of today: 319) SEMO 320) Evansville Let’s take that spot back! We are the lowest ranked undefeated/2-0 team in the KenPom ratings. I’m hoping that another win (especially a road win) even against the #319 rated team can move us out of the 300’s. We just have to keep winning and beating the teams in front of us and we will eventually get up the list and hopefully eventually top 100.

Aces open as 3.5 underdogs vs SEMO tomorrow via DraftKings Aces ML +120 O/U 150.5 Team totals also look high: Aces O/U 74.5 points SEMO O/U 76.5 points Bally’s (where I placed mine at) has UE +2, and O/U is down to 149.

It would take a dominant win to get us out of the 300s, but if we keep stacking wins, we’ll be out of the 300s after Ball State for sure. For reference, Indiana State jumped from 125 to 96 after a dominant 40 point win over 316th ranked IUPUI. IUPUI had a pretty similar game against Valpo last week (318 v 321), and they only jumped to 305 despite a 10 point road win. So I’d say we’ll need to win by 15-20 if we want to get out of the 300s. Would love to see it but definitely not expecting that kind of performance from UE tonight.

I agree - I see this being very close. I just want them to win - any type of win is good with me. At this point given what a nightmare this has been the last several years - we really need a game like this for guys to start believing they can win.
I really hope we come out tonight with a lot of intensity.

I’m not convinced that our starting five against a D1 team can give us much separation, but as long as they keep us close, I’m hopeful the second team can increase the lead and maybe we can wear them down a little bit over time with the number of players that we play.
I agree that it’s likely to be close and that I’ll take any win on the road at this point.

I believe we are light years ahead of last year in regards to talent. However, a part of this year's journey will be learning to win. The biggest problem with learning to win is you have to win. The new guys only know winning with the Aces... they are ahead of the curb. The returnee's... not so much. They got a master's degree in learning to lose. This is why I was uncomfortable with the returnees being the majority of the end of game lineups against Miami of Ohio. Tonight, 1 point is plenty for me. Learn to win! Go Aces!

Good problem to have for sure.
