Ok...here we go...its gonna be a wild and hated ride through this one. I think everyone we brought in for this year (Sam, Art, Deandre and Peace) are gone. There might actually be one or two more depending on their academic status (Throwing Hall, Kuhlman and Frederking in this group). One thing that somewhat bothered me, the last part of the season, is what was going on with Tomasi and Marcus (one or both could also join initial list)?
Per the usual, word on these types of things out of the UE camp is sometimes tough information to come by. I hope I am wrong, but there are a few signs that make me lean the opposite way (class enrollment, playing time, dressing for games, game attendance and attitude on the floor). My fellow die-hard Purple and Orange Peeps, I am simply stating a plausible possibility and definitely not a given fact. I guess we will all know the roster come next August...be it a current or revamped one.

If one or two players are NOT added to the roster that can truly make a difference (i.e. a point guard that can score, and a 5 that can compete with Robbins, and Krutwig) even if DeAndre returns, we will again be a Thursday team. This of course is my considered opinion.

I think we dismiss the other component to being in a college basketball program, and that's ... some of these guys actually want to get a degree. If all they are doing is going around looking for places to play basketball, they might need to rethink that. UE may end up next year with the same thing Bradley had a few years back -- a glorified Juco team that either matures or is modified.

I don't dismiss it at all and think it is pertinent part of what I was talking about. We offer few degrees, especially graduate, and if a UE player gets finished. He is just that finished. Also, if the NCAA has there way by allowing the immediate eligibility of a transfer...we will be hit harder than most.

Don’t know that I would give up on getting an inside presence. I personally don’t think Brunk helped himself going to IU. Just saying that we might get lucky in the transfer or JUCO market. Regardless, we gotta try. We need a SHUTDOWN guard with quickness, attitude, and smarts. Every good MVC team this year had a “motor”; Green, Freeman-Liberty, Brown, etc. A pass-first, elite defender solves the “KJ as point guard” mistake, while also addressing some of the problems we had on D this year.
Yes, we need a scorer or two. Sam could be one, but he has to lose the attitude. Everybody has to WANT to play together, and they all need to receive the SAME message from the coach. Somehow, I get the feeling that WMc told Sam, Dre, and KJ (separately) that the ‘19-20 Aces we’re going to be “his” team. Sam was moody, Dre was erratic and foul-prone at times, and KJ was the point guard who dribbled all the time. None of them were effective as leaders, this year. The ‘18-19 team, despite its issues, had better leadership than we had this season, mostly because of the team play of Marty Hill.

We will be better off without Hall and Peace..

If these transfer rules take effect, college basketball will resemble industrial league teams. As it stands for the UK's of the world, they are all-star teams that pretend to be representing the university. That's just bogus. I am growing more interested in the 2nd tier of the NAIA tournament with each passing dunk shot.

I can see John Hall being finished with his undergraduate and considering moving on from college basketball. Your guess is as good as mine there.
Evan stated on the coaches show that he was going for dual degrees in Finance and Leadership. The leadership is a masters level program. I expect him to stay.
Noah is a finance major as well. It's plausible he could be done with undergraduate work. Being here during the summer has given the opportunity to lighten his academic load during the "normal" academic year. I'd not be surprised if he works toward that leadership masters as well. Either way I believe he stays.
It's also plausible Art is finished with his undergraduate work if he's utilized his red-shirt time wisely. I believe he's gone.
Peace, find him some other financial/academic aid and make him a walk-on.
There's three potential open scholarships.

One would hope these guys make these decisions soon enough to allow UE to begin the process of sorting out the recruiting. It's likely they already know this but aren't allowed to discuss it while the season is active.

Well that's a minute and 8 seconds of the most wasted time I've ever spent! Not counting the 18 seconds typing.

What we don't know is if some players are leaving they may have already informed the coaching staff. But the University probably won't announce any defections possibly until the end of the school year.Big win for the baseball team over IU
