Look at what happened to Lebrons teams when he left vs MJs bulls without him in that two year stretch. Lebron was carrying Teams to the NBA finals that couldn’t even make the playoffs without him. MJs bulls went deep into the playoffs the seasons he wasn’t there.
All the old folks want to penalize LeBron for losing finals games but no one seems to care that MJ couldn’t even make a conference finals without Scotty Pippen. 6-0 is impressive but so is making 8 straight finals. Several of which LeBron carried rosters hamstrung by injuries to the finals with little help. The 2007 Cavs team had no business being in the finals and it’s an impressive feat in and of itself that a 22 year old LeBron got them there. The 2014 heat and 2015 Cavs were depleted rosters filled with injuries. LeBron would’ve definitely won in 2015 with a healthy Kevin Love and Kyrie. The 2017 & 2018 losses were against arguably one of the best basketball teams ever assembled, far better than any team MJ ever faced in his career. Really the only finals loss that is a true blemish on LeBron is the 2011 loss to the Mavs. That team had no business competing with the heat and LeBron completely underperformed. Every other finals he has carried his team there and either won or put up insane stats in the losses with inferior teams.
Lebrons the better all around player and I don’t think that’s up for discussion. You can argue about what qualifies as “greatest of all time” but I’ll take the guy that’s the #1 scorer of all time, top 5 in assists, and completely dominated the league for a decade straight.

Ya wrong. I’m not penalizing LeBron for losing. I’m penalizing him for playin in an era when if you just look at a player sideways while they drive the lane, you get hit with a flagrant 15.2 or something like that and ejected from the game. Jordan played in a time where if you drove the lane, the defense would headhunt you. Think I’m kidding? Watch the Davis boys in Indy, Laimbeer and the bad boy Pistons, Larry “Granmama”Johnson and the Knicks, and the Miami Heat Mourning. You can believe that LBJ is the goat, but I would hope a pro could score like that when no one can be with in 5 feet of you.

Add in the Rockets matched up well vs those Bulls as Vernon Maxwell actually could get into MJ’s head a little.

There’s no player in NBA history with Lebrons combination of size, strength, athleticism, and skill and I don’t think playing in a more physical era would affect him at all honestly.

Moderators: As interesting that the MJ-Lebron discussion is, it needs its own thread so that the thread 2023 Practices can get back to its original topic.

Well, I’m sure an unofficial practice or a pick up game happened yesterday. It seems like that is possible.

www.instagram.com/reel/Cuhzc7yN_Gc/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==The team answers “what NBA player is your game most similar to?” Not directly of practice; but it is notable that the entire team makes an appearance in the video and is in town practicing together. DJ Balentine also makes an appearance.

Thanks for posting Larry. Looks like Yacine and Gui are both on campus now. Had to watch a few times to see DJ in the background.
