Rain is knocking on the door. They should move this game to California.

And this is where the artificial turf comes in handy. Rain early, but the sun is out now.

I'm not an artifcial turf kinda guy, partly because of the "bounce effect" of early facilities like the Astrodome (I coined another term which sounded like this) and various other MLB experiments w/ petrochemicals. But it beats playing in mud & dodging puddles on the IF!

Why didn't Braun fund a retractable ceiling for the stadium? And ISU's taking hitting practice inside the old National Guard Armory...lol

Bears up 7-1 in 4th over Valpo. Spencer Nivens 7/13 in series & swinging a wicked bat right now. This game looks like a "Mercy Rule" affair...
In Carbondale, Saluki's up 3-2 over the Birdz in bottom of 6th.

Looks like our Boonville kid has ramped up his adrenaline for this one. He might get into the 8th and then, who knows.

I read his bio...says he started @ IU. Wonder if he had arm trouble? IU's had a decent program for the past few yrs. and ranked high this season.

And this is where the artificial turf comes in handy. Rain early, but the sun is out now. Wind early and wind late. Hot chocolate and coffee sales were through the roof. Overall, it was a miserable game to watch. Butler on Wednesday should be more enjoyable.

Lots more guys leaving the B1G for Valley than you may realize. I think the Valley is a better conference. Pitchers who can't get innings will start looking for places. The Portal lives for all sports. A couple of Aces are former Hoozies.

Significant parity in Big Ten ball, all equally disadvantaged by the cold weather seasonal start. Of course, having deeper fiscal pockets allows for extended travel down South, thus ultimately impacting their deceptive RPI's. Last I checked, Big Ten was #7 v. MVC #10. I think that ISU has split w/ IU (H & A), swept Purdue, swept Illinois (H & A) and were swept by MSU (2 games) early in March. I'd imagine they'd like to have those games back for a rematch now!
