I’m not sure how Jackson fits into our program but we are paying for an official visit. What I do know is that he’s tall, a lefty and a smart kid. All this generally fits our wish list.
I guess we will soon see if Jackson is offered and what his reaction will be.

Most official visits a recruit if offered. Here is hoping we will hear from Tanner Cuff very soon.

I believe that Antoine and Marvin are the only ones scheduled to exhaust their eligibility after this season. I'm thinking that the coaches are expecting someone will transfer out.

Great that we are casting a big net. There are some good programs with interest…Texas Tech, George Mason, etc. He fits the profile of a swing in the MVC. I have a good feeling that he might be a late bloomer who could have some impact.
As far as a spot on the scholly list, most schools realize they need to overstock talent. The chances of ANY team retaining EVERY player from year-to-year are about 25%. Plus, after a couple of weeks of practice, the staff has a pretty good idea of who is really D1 quality. With another year to recruit, the coaches will be on the lookout for upgrades. There will be opportunity in the transfer portal, too. It’s a business. You can think long term, but you have to recruit short term, as well.. If kids can leave after a year, the schools must also be allowed to adjust their squads if they can land a more productive player. Ultimately, roster moves can be handled with class and integrity, if there is good communication along the way.

Antoine, Marvin, and Gage would all graduate on a typical college schedule. Marvin has 0 eligibility left. Antoine and Gage have the COVID year left, but I get the feeling the coaches are interested in using those scholarships to bring in their own recruits. I’m guessing the coaches are recruiting like they need to fill 4 spots for next year.

Bringing back 5th year guys is just lazy recruiting. It just is. This is what defined Lickliter.

This recruit must be the reason Marcus was in FLA last weekend.

Jackson had a 27 point 7 rebound game against Life Christian Academy in Kissimmee, FL last winter. He showed he can score at a high rate when needed. UE needs players who can put points on the board.

Offered today
Interesting that Braylon tweeted yesterday afternoon that he was offered and then removed it. Here was the twitter link: which now says:
Glad that Braylon reposted the offer; it was up briefly yesterday.

Braylon Jackson announced today (Sunday) that he did receive a scholarship offer from UE. He stated his visit to UE was an awesome experience.
It’s going to be interesting to see who signs a LOI in November. We have a lot of potential who could join the team next year.
