As Anthony stated about our goal -- "but it could be argued that it was offside." No argument needed, it was definitely offsides, but is also the reason the offsides rule needs to change. We took control of the ball and Graham out hustled the IU defender to get the through ball from Diaz. The offsides was not egregious (one yard beyond an IU player). They need to look at the reason the offsides rule was initially instituted....and it was not for plays like the one tonight.
Never played organized soccer in my life, but have watched many games, and it is the one rule that frustrates me the most as a fan.
Rant over! I agree that the offsides rule is frustrating but without it players would be cherry picking in the box all the time. Just hope that VAR doesn't come to college soccer. It will be much worse. Cherry picking is the reason the rule was instituted, and on that I agree. My gripe is the play such as the one we scored our goal on...normally offsides would of been called on that play. Our offensive player was not "cherry picking," he simply outran the defender (putting him in an offsides position) to meet the through ball from Diaz.

The AR not only has to be online with the second to last defender he also has to know when the ball was last touched. Sometime it's real hard to do both. I think a lot of AR's listen for the touch.

This was the men's regular season finale:
One of their best shots on goal six minutes into the game:
This shot on goal 18 minutes into the game might have been even closer:
A game of inches.

Not sure how you measure a season of soccer when almost half the games end in a tie. Are you bad or are they good? Or both, neither?

Not sure how you measure a season of soccer when almost half the games end in a tie. Are you bad or are they good? Or both, neither? Did you win more than you lost? If you did you probably had a good season (for most teams). Soccer is a notoriously low scoring game, so there will be lots of ties. It just means that on that given day you were "equal" even if one team outshot the other team 30-0 on goal because all that matters is if you score. Note: The men's soccer team had a regular season record of 6-4-6 (W-L-T). Only one of their four losses was to an unranked team (although Xavier has now dropped out of the top 25. D1 soccer rankings and UE's losses: Opponent | Result | #2 Kentucky (EXH) | L, 0-3 | #19 Xavier (unranked now) | L, 1-3 | #21 Missouri State | L, 3-4 | #11 Louisville | L, 0-2 | UIC | L, 0-2

So yes, I would say they had a good regular season. Hopefully they have a good post-season run as well. Obviously, we had some really, really good teams in the 80's (and I believe 90's).

Aces scored their only goal with 15 minutes to go:
They had a couple of other shots that were close.

Thanks for posting replay. I was there watching the game but standing at the other end. Even on this replay it does not show Oliver Hald making the assist.
Great win!

This could be a promotion next year at a UE soccer game.If Nacho Diaz scores a goal everyone gets free order of Nachos at the next home game.

UE vs Belmont 0-0 at halftime.
GOOOOOOOAL! 25:36 2nd half - Ola Arntsen - his first goal of the season. A zinger of a shot from 20+ yds out.
