And saying what several others have a little different, you won't get an answer if you don't knock on the door.

I think landing a P-5 guy is good for our morale but in the end, the process of building a cohesive team depends on more than one player who might be at UE for one season while he gets his resume up to transfer over to a Big East team. I can't say what this Aces team needs because it's hard to say what they have or what happens as the practices evolve. I am a little more likely to leave it at this: UE appears to be attractive to top players, which means it stopped being a laughing stock of D-1 ball and started becoming a player again.
I also would not turn down a P-5 level guy who wanted to show up on campus. Build the team and the reputation at the same time.

That's why it's so crucial to get John Bol. Might be the only time we will be able to get a 4 or 5 star player in the foreseeable future who can put the program on a winnable path the will attract other players of that type.

I still think more of this is about what the current roster thinks of UE and Ragland. They talk to other players. If these guys encourage younger players to take at look at UE, that's where it starts. There wasn't much more of a bottom to hit with the Aces. They can't do anything now but make it better.

Picked up offers from Vandy and Virginia Tech today. Going to be tough to win this one, but if Rags does, the future is very very bright.

Damn I thought we had a real shot with him. Can’t knock him for wanting to compete in the SEC and get a top notch education though

Stackhouses seat is pretty hot at Vandy. Could see a change being made after this season or next if he doesn’t step it up significantly in SEC play

Very disappointed...I really thought UE was going to sign him. Terrific player and would have made a big splash. Just part of the process of recruiting....I still believe Ragland and staff are going to get several game changers.

Could see a change being made after this season or next if he doesn’t step it up significantly in SEC play Vandy just lost by 60 to Bama and lots of fans are calling for Stackhouses job. He’s got an extension before the season, which complicates things, but most of their fans seem sick of the team failing under him and are very upset with their AD extending him. I’m still holding out faith that Rags could make a strong push for JQ if a coaching change ever occurs at Vandy

The odds of anybody winning at Vandy is about the same as they are at Evansville. UE ought to be playing Vandy, fwiw. It's as close as Belmont and probably a good draw.

His prized recruit got hurt and his other 5 stars didn’t perform and they booted him after going 0 for in the SEC. Pretty short sighted considering he was recruiting at a high level and Stackhouse has done nothing to get them out of the cellar. The only players stackhouse has sent to the NBA were Drew’s good recruits from his last year. Surprised they’ve given Stackhouse as long of a leash as he’s had because his results are worse than Drew’s imo. I agree we should get them on the schedule. It looks like they’re not afraid to schedule a home & home with A10 & American teams (Temple, SMU, Richmond), so maybe we could get a home & home if we improved our programs image? Hard to think of many other P5s we could get to make the trip to Evansville in this era of CBB..

(Sub in Murray for Belmont and probably do even better.)
