You actually think he'll adapt to the UCF/Orlando Campus, given the comparative demographics of Linton/Greene County & UCF? I think he reminisced over Disney World, not UCF, failing to seriously examine the true nature of the school. www.ucf.edu/about-ucf/facts/

Playing for Johnny Dawkins. Bigger stage. Can’t blame him, but it bites.

Starting to sound like a broken record. Probably going to sound like that for most of ‘23. Staff got an incredibly late start and the public perception of the program is at an all time low. Makes recruiting an uphill battle, but I’m glad we made the top 4 over 6 of our valley peers. We’ve only got one scholarship that is guaranteed to be open next year. Could have up to 3 if none of the seniors take the COVID year, but I bet we will likely only sign 1 High schooler and I wouldn’t be shocked if we sign 0. No point in taking a kid you don’t love in the age of the portal. Hopefully we see some seriously improved play on the court this year and with a full year under their belt to build relationships in the class of 24 the staff can exceed expectations in recruiting.

I browsed the Orlando Sentinel Sports - UCF and found NOTHING re: Hart.

They aren't real happy on the Indiana State board, as they feel they are "light years" ahead of us and Ball State. That one even gave me a good laugh. We were 9th and UE was 10th; plus Ball State blew our doors off last season, so I'm still trying to figure out how they came up with that one. Most of the ISU board hates me, because I'm too real for them. Some recruit recently chose Belmont over us and I made a comment about how we always get out-recruited by the Bruins. Someone got pretty upset about my comment and challenged me to name 3 recent players that chose BU over ISU, so I gave him 6 .

Been a lot of talk on the internet lately of Johnny Dawkins seat being hot and Rick Pitino being a candidate to replace him. I won’t hold my breath on Joey being an ace, but it sounds like there is a *chance* a coaching change could lead to a reopened recruitment. I guess we’ll see what happens in the next two weeks.

He’s damn good. Would love to see it but it’s doubtful he would come here at this point.

He’s damn good. Would love to see it but it’s doubtful he would come here at this point. Anything’s possible if the next UCF coach isn’t interested in keeping him. We were one of 4 finalists, but it’s definitely a long shot. He’s the kind of player you need to rise to the top of the MVC though for sure.

Players talk to each other. They have (gasp) telephones and transportation. They play pickup games.
There is a point in that what we want to see at UE is a revamp of the roster. That's business and it's cold and harsh. It involves people and money and propriety. That takes me to Joey Hart. If he isn't the superstar the rest of the world thinks he is, he's going to face some icy reality no matter where he goes.
(Insert Luke Brown and Alex Matthews here if you want.)
What the Aces program does in the next 120 days will make a big difference to players who are looking for court time, maybe some mentoring and maybe a chance to be something they want to be -- part of a solid program. Nobody expects to go undefeated in college ball. The last Hoosier who came close has a statue in Terre Haute.
How Ragland handles this transformation will have a very large impact on the players he recruits. Even the most egotistical of the bunch would like to be treated with respect. He may not get Hart or the next three guys who resemble Hart, but he will get some of them.

Yes it is and he has a serious problem. I suspect his coaching days are over for at least a few years.

Very sad. Probably more behind the scenes as to why Joey chose to go to Central Florida versus staying close to home.
