Massive omission considering Barry Hinson is mentioned lol Literally NONE of the options stacks up against Chris if we are being honest Not sure I’d go that far but he sure beats the breaks off some that got included

“see through that bait and switch stuff” What does this mean? I’m not following Politely it's called the con game by agents, who are lining up to cut deals. It isn't my job to explain what that will mean because I don't know what it means. Assume all is well until it's not.

Ummm, Guys…. Where is the Chris Hollender choice? Massive omission considering Barry Hinson is mentioned lol Not massive, but honest omission. I tried to edit this to include Hollender, but it won't let me. I hate to start over since there have been so many votes already. If you want Hollender, just check the "Other" box and mention it in the comments.

After watching the press conference if our new coach is not energetic and thinking about the team 24/7 then he is not the right guy. Does this mean the person if over 50-55 years old is too old to have the energy Ziggy is looking for? Do we really want a guy on the downward trending part of his career or an up and coming coach who can use UE as a stepping stone to something bigger? The other teams in the Valley who found success the past few years makes me lean one way on this. I liked his comment about being transparent. This will sure be a welcomed change. Either way, I feel a lot better about the state of UE athletics now than I have in years just in what has taken place the last two weeks.

Massive omission considering Barry Hinson is mentioned lol Literally NONE of the options stacks up against Chris if we are being honest This is an opinion board and you're certainly entitled to yours. In my opinion, Hollender tried to stab UE in the Dru Smith fiasco. You recently posted that Lickliter might be sabotaging the program intentionally. That was a pretty outlandish accusation to make. Between the two, your guy, Hollender is the one who actually was part of an attempt to sabotage the UE program and UE unfairly came out looking bad. I'll (probably) still be an Aces fan in the unlikely event he gets the job, but a disappointed one. I loved Jim Crews as Aces coach in the '80's and '90's. But he's been gone for 20 years. The time to hire off his coaching 'tree' is over.

Yes, he was leaving anyway. But Missouri wanted UE to lie so that he could be eligible immediately. Had UE played along, it would have been UE in trouble if the NCAA started digging into the situation. So no, I won't come on. I understand he is likely a friend of yours and you're supporting a friend. But he's not a friend of Aces basketball.

I hate to break it to you, but you are completely misguided on this I’ve met almost everyone ever associated with Evansville Basketball, and there isn’t anyone more invested with Aces Basketball than Chris Hollender. That was a sad deal with Dru, and no one was particularly excited about it; but he was going somewhere, and he was connected with Chris bc he recruited him originally.

That's the way I remember it aceschamps6571. It seemed like Hollander put his loyalty behind Simmons and not UE. Thant's fine because they're loyal friends but UE took major heat because of pressure from Mizzou. BenFred's articles are still on the front page of UE's Verbal Commits page. Simmons and Hollander are good people but the way they handled the situation left a lot to be desired.

The problem wasn't Dru going to Missouri. Evansville had a coaching change and players often transfer when that happens So he left for Missouri. It was what happened later that was disturbing. It was when they tried to get him immediately eligible and tried to bully a much smaller school into lying on his behalf, and then UE being made to look bad. That happened. We'll have to agree to disagree on this.

Brian Michaelson, current Gonzaga assistant coach, would be someone who fits Ziggy's idea of a great young coach for UE.
I'm not keen on Crean, although I know a lot of Evansville people would like to see him here. His recent record/results at Georgia remind me too much of Coach Lickliter's lack of success. Plus I remember a lot of the dribble around the perimeter, shoot the 3 offense that Crean used at IU, which also reminds me of TL. We need a new direction.
David Ragland would be another great choice.
Who knows who Ziggy has in mind, but I trust him. He seems very confident, and he conveys that confidence when he speaks publicly. I certainly like the optimism that Ziggy displays to all of us. He knows how to generate excitement!
