If any member is truly interested in the most comprehensive history of the UE football program check out the following facebook page: www.facebook.com/groups/166480244004006 university of Evansville Football Friends and Alumni. You won't be disappointed except for the fact the UE no longer has a football program.

Thank you, I am only going back to 1919 since that is the first year Evansville College began. Prior to 1919 it was Moores Hill College.

Quick google search really didn't come up with anything. I can't imagine they had enough students to field a football team. Next time I go to Cincinnati, I am going to detour through Moores Hill. One building remains, Carnegie Hall, which is now some type of museum/community center.

The way I understand it was that Moores Hill college moved to Evansville in 1919. So that the football records that austinace gave me from 1898 to 1918 was Moores Hill College not Evansville College.

The college went bankrupt and Evansville business people lured the school. They started football a couple of years later. Slyker was the coach.

The following is from the UE gopurpleaces page. I have no idea what type of football games these were, but there is some activity from the Moores Hill era. 1911 and 1912 they played 6 games of some type each year, and 5 the following year.
1898: 0-1-0; 1899: No record.
1900: 0-1-0; 1901-08 No records. 1909: 1-0-0
1910: 0-1-0; 1911: 2-3-1; 1912: 1-3-2; 1913: 0-4-1; 1914: 0-2-0 1915-22 No records.

The closest schools would have been at Louisville or Cincinnati.

Hanover would not have been too far away but besides that, there were likely other small schools in the area that nobody has heard of (like Moore’s Hill). And they may have also played against the Cincinnati YMCA, etc. That was not unheard of at that time. It would be interesting to see the schedule.

There was obviously no NCAA so any group of players who had a club team would have been a potential opponent. I found a few of them in a random search. Hanover may have had a team. Hell, the Madison State Hospital probably had a team. There was a business college in Cincinnati that played infrequent games against high schools in that area.

Is it true that when UE dropped football UE only saved $180,000? If that is true then all I can say is WOW just WOW. Think of all the money UE lost the last 24 years because of UE's bonehead decision.

On the Indiana State men's basketball site on wikepedia it showed that Indiana State played Moores Hill College in the 1912-13 schedule.
