Season to date is a hell of a race along the backstretch. 9 posters are within 10 points of the lead. acecard is maintaining his razor thin lead.

It was easier to finish at or near the top the past two years. Lickliter mythology still had a fan club on this board who leaped at every chance to pick the Aces to win. Now that it's cool to reject the Lickliter Way, betting a 5 for the Aces to lose is the rule. Starting with an automatic 5 points creates a bunching effect that will continue till the end. With only 10 points and 4 games in play instead of 15 and 5, it's difficult to make up ground or widen a lead. Is picking last the best strategy? Will reigning champ db or another last-picker finish on top? We will know in 27 days.

If only it were that easy...but keep telling yourself that if it helps you massage your bruised ego. The majority of the time, I wait until the night before the first games or the morning of because I look at the betting lines. If I pick after you (or anybody else), it's entirely coincidental. You flatter yourself if you think I'm making decisions based solely on your picks. Vegas is smarter than you and I trust them more.

You flatter yourself if you think I'm making decisions based solely on your picks. Vegas is smarter than you and I trust them more. Vegas never loses. Do you even understand how betting lines are formulated? They take a cut no matter who wins. They handicap the game to keep equal chances of winning on both sides. As the bets become out of balance, Vegas changes the handicap to even the chances again and to keep bets rolling in. A computer takes care of this for them. They don't have a room full of researchers staying abreast of every bit of news coming from athletic departments. Please do trust them. A bookmaker has never received one thin dime from me. They aren't smart enough to pull that off. And I didn't say that you won "solely" because you (and Vegas) pick last. That's your bruised ego word, not mine. Best of luck to you and Vegas.
