OK. It's my turn to take a familiar role & piss you all off, with my opinion.
DeAndre is leaving the program. Whether he dresses for another game or not. This is his only season, as an ACE. Dre is without a doubt one of the largest personality's to ever play at UE. He's funny, engaging, and seems to be well liked by his fellow ACES. A few in here, think "Dre" is the second coming of Kevin Durant. Bullocks. He had a string of memorable games against low level mid major sub .500 teams. He completely sucked in the islands, Average games against both SMU & UK. Irrelevant against Jacksonville. Disappeared against Mo State.....But, did come back big, in next game against VALPO. He shined bright, cause he is better than any other ACE. He has a reeeeaaaalllyy slow delivery and awkward release on his jumper. Upper tier professional athletes will regularly feed him leather on his shot. Yes, he has decent range. And, if he keeps backing up, maybe they'll give him a chance at a thirty footer. Not enough bulk, to go inside and he's not gonna jump over anyone. He'll make good money and have great life, living & playing over sea. à votre santé Sam, is done. And, I think he could care less. I'm betting a Grad xfer, to another mid major, where they'll offer to build an offence around him. Which is what I think he was offered as an enticement to come here, from the jump. Marty's guys will stay. They'll need them to fill the roster next year. Totally evident, to me last night, Coach Todd, is gonna play the guys that want to be here. Shamar Jawaun Marcus The "rebuild" started last night. Artur, will be back.

Say what you will but the defeatist attitude is almost unbearable. Too much effort to think that way all the time. My psychology minor taught me that being negative is much easier, than being positive. Thanks for confirming my point . Lol

While we would love to keep Williams, nobody should be surprised if he leaves after this season. And I like the idea of giving more PT to the guys who show they really "want to be here."

As athletic as Sam is he just isn’t as advertised. He can have a good game yes but can’t string 3 together. His best bet is to stay. But that’s my opinion and they’re like elbows and a$$holz.

Maybe "pissed", is the incorrect adjective. I was basically referring to when I have voiced my opinions in the past. Most notably, my concerns about Sam, prior to his signing. I posted a negative comment and was piled on quickly by several, in here. Some replies, to my stance weren't all that cordial. And, I would classify as an angry rebuttal. My posted thoughts of Dre's abilities, I felt may have been received by some as similar. Just my cubitus or anal orifice

I’m w/ COUTEAU. Dre only intended to stay one seAson, then go pro. Prob. Ditto Sam. After seeing last night, I’m happy to play next yr without Sam. Bring on Trey, Samari and Jonathan. If Dre stays, it’s a bonus. BTW, I think JH is a good guy, but he is aiability shooting the 3. He should be our banger inside. If he stays, his role is different next yr, but hopefully that happens sooner. Drake is a lesson for us. A team with just decent talent can axhieve if they play as a team with a good game plan.

You all might be right that Williams decides to go. But he is making a mistake. He is not ready for European or the G league. They will eat him up. He needs one more year. Now whether it is here or somewhere else, only he knows. Sam, I like him, he does get too emotional and lets him get into trouble. I think the other teams know this and work to get him frustrated knowing he will let out the "F" Bomb, get a "T" which has gotten him benched. They are using it to get him out of the game. I always go back to an old saying about those that leave somewhere. "You take a bucket of water, stick your hand in it and when you pull it out, the hole that is left is how much you eventually will be missed". Some have bigger hands and it may take a lightly longer time, but you wont be missed in the end.

But if we have learned anything this year, it is that none of us have any idea what's going to happen next. (Except for svmar10, who called it on Lickliter.)
This group clearly has a lot of potential - but it also has a small margin for error. I think that a lot of that has to do with not having an inside presence. Sam has tons of athleticism, as we all know, but needs to learn to let the game come to him. DeAndre has only played half a season of college basketball; you would expect some ups and downs, but we are a different team with him on the court and he will be playing for $ (but not next year). I hope they both stay. I like the way Newton and Shamar get after it - they often come up with loose balls and rebounds. And I definitely want to see more Henderson.
Does anyone know anything about Thomasi? Is he still injured?

Thomasi had surgery on his back. Out for the year and should qualify as a medical redshirt.

I think we all should just come to the conclusion that we suck. Whether Williams gets back or not we just wont suck as much. Hope they prove me wrong. I will still yell and scream for them. But hit some shots for a change. Williams has not played in 2nd semester. He is going to transfer. Lay you money his back is not hurt. He just trying to find someone who wants him. The quicker he makes up his mind the better we will be.

DeAndre may think he's ready for the pros and he might even ask them to consider him. It is quite important to realize exactly how good you need to be to play pro ball. That's 80-some games a year, not 25. He can get a contract in a minor pro league in Ireland or Sweden, which will be worth less than his degree from UE.
As far as anybody else leaving, I think Cunliffe came to UE in order to get the exposure to get a pro look. He wasn't getting it before and he hasn't done much with it in Evansville. Sam has some major tools but he's not an NBA guy. Not sure on his BS status but he has to be close to graduating.

If it isn't would they want a player that laid back on his team mates. I don't know. but he did have a hard time getting into UE and had to lay out a year. Other schools will look at that. Pro maybe but again its potential they would be gambling with because he hasn't played organized ball enough. He is not a Lebron to come out of high school into the pros. He is a good player but needs to play a season somewhere. If he goes I wish him the best of luck and good health
