That's the last time I ever basically copy off of db1972. It cost me a perfect score.

Unfortunately, it's against the rules - since there is only one game left I technically used 2-5 on those games and missed them. The only number I have left is the 1.
Year end close at work is rough...thankfully today is the last day.
I guess there really isn't a hard-fast rule on this. I do hate to see someone get knocked way back by missing a few picks. I am ok with letting posters pick points on any game that hasn't been played that round, just can't repeat like usual. I will let the voices that respond before tip decide this. What if on the next round, I only want to predict the Aces game. Would I not be able to make it a 5? Doesn't seem fair to me.

I am pretty sure that if you only got (5) on each round, you wouldn't finish in the top half. 33% of the possible points isn't going to carry you very far. Getting down to one game doesn't give much, even with a 5, but I can see your point if it happens sooner. If someone misses the first 2 games, they still could end up with a 12. That does seem a little unfair. It's a moot point anyway, Servo had UE, so he gets nothing. I guess to clarify going forward, we will allow late entries, but for each game you miss, you lose the ability to use the highest number available. Miss the first game, you lose the (5), miss two, and you lose (4) and (5) and so on. We can debate this at the end of the year and come up with a fair solution.

A genius walks into a bar and says, "Northern Iowa 5 Southern Illinois 4 Drake 3 Missouri State 2 Evansville 1" The genius needs to quit being a homer....14/15

Scores are even better this round with (2) perfect 15's by AcesChamps6571 and 83Ace. Whiskers and db1972 continued their down in the mud cat-fight with strong scores of 14 each and last year's runner up municup made a strong run after a slow start with his own score of 14.

All of the 14ers are a little stressed right now. Get some rest. Great rounds are on the horizon. I promise.

If only the team had the competitive fire and drive of Purple Whiskers tonight! :-)

If only the team had the competitive fire and drive of Purple Whiskers tonight! :-) Nothing special about me, though in fairness I can see why others believe it. I just know that those who don't learn from the future are doomed to repeat it. I will not let a future of losing happen.

I was commenting on the principle of the contest, not the wisdom of it. Of course it would be stupid to just predict one game if you wanted to win the contest. I still don't see why a person should be penalized for missing any number of games, but will still play the game according to the rules.

I'm confused, I thought you were against any changes, maybe I misread what you meant when you said it didn't seem fair to you.
It's the boards contest, and makes no difference to me how we do the rule on it. Just as long as everyone knows what it is.

This is just my 2 cents, but since we're giving a point value for each game, it would stand to reason that if you failed to pick a game,(example, a Tuesday game you didn't see and the other games are on Wednesday), then how could you give a 5 if there's only 4 games? The top pick then would be a 4. If you missed picking the first 2 games, it would seem that the 5 and 4 possibilities are gone since you're then down to just 3 games. Again, just my opinion. The best strategy obviously is to pick all 5, then sit back and enjoy the back and forth between Whiskers and db72. 😁
