I noticed that Silver Creek's Trey Kaufman, a 6'7 PF (4*) offered by Evansville, trimmed his list today down to IU, Purdue, North Carolina, Virginia, and Indiana State. He, and 6'9 PF Langdon Hatton, who just committed to William and Mary, are now off the board for UE.
Looking at VerbalCommits, there currently remains 4 spots left on next year's roster with 5 open offers from UE for 2021-22 season:
Jaden Rogers, a 6'0 PG (2*) - Louisville Fern Creek HS - additional offers from Miami(OH), Morehead State
Jake Heidbreder, a 6'4 SG (2*) - Floyd Central HS - additional offers from Idaho, Lipscomb, Indiana State, Elon, Navy, Vermont, Furman, SIUE
Michael Eley, a 6'4 SG (2*) - Fort Wayne Snider HS - additional offers from Ball State, IUPUI, Miami(OH)
Jayden Brewer, a 6'5 SF (2*) - Ind. Ben Davis HS - additional offers from Cleveland State, Miami(OH)
Owen Dease, a 6'5 SF (2*) - FJ Reitz HS - additional offers from IUPUI, Miami(OH)
I'm guessing the Aces may focus/offer on another big (or two) to add for next year, now that Kaufman and Hatton are off the board. Evan, Sam, and Peace, of course, will be graduating.

Does anyone have any information regarding who we are recruiting for the Spring signing period? I don't believe much has changed on Verbal Commits for months. Were any of the coaching staff spotted scouting at any of the High School Sectional championship games tonight?

The scholarships of Ilegomah, TGA, and Cunliffe are fulfilled with Sisley, Boynton, and Beauchamp.

Actually if kuhlman, levitch, and frederking come back they don’t count against the 13 division one scholarships allowed per school.

I think we can all safely assume the staff have a lot of "feelers" out right now. Probably some offers we do not know about as of yet. Should know a lot more by late this month.

Why would they pull an Illinois state (maintaining 17 kids on the roster) with useless roster spots? 2. Maybe it’s because the season was going on, but the past few months, I have seen zero activity on the recruiting side from Baumann, Crone, or Jackson on Twitter.

NCAA dead period is until may 31 which means no in person visits with players. As far as UE being broke opinions vary.

We might still recruit, but I doubt we add any more players unless we have any more transfer out. ^This is an opinion. With regards to UE’s financial situation, there sure are different opinions on how to deal with it. I’m sure we have the same opinion. But, the FACT is, they still are in trouble no matter how you want to quantify the situation. It’s difficult running a private institution. Frankly, I just want to get my degree before another storm hits.

Dead period is only for face to face contact. Coaches can still meet via zoom, watch live stream video of a recruits games, call/text, etc. That's not an excuse right now because all D1 are dealing with the same issue.....I would like them to add a shooter like Dease and a big from Europe this Spring.
Maybe it would be smart to sit on one scholarship in case our Juniors like Givance and Newton decide to extend their careers one more year for Covid, so we could recruit at least one talented kid in 2022.

If Evan, Noah, and Jax do not count against the 13 scholarships for next year, would it not be the same for Shamar and Jawuan the following year, and so forth for the rest of the roster?

I would think that to be true for anyone on the roster in 19-20. 🤷🏻♂️

I don’t think so - I think the overage is only for next season.

So it sounds like (from the link that Scooter shared above) that UE is not required to pick up the bill for the extra year. So it is possible that Evan and Noah would have to pay for their extra year.

I believe Ace said it correctly above that we have no one to sign in the Spring unless one of the current seniors does not come back or gives up his scholarship and returns as a walkon.
As I read the new rule players get a 5th year of eligibility. Exceeding the 13 scholarship rule only applies to the coming 21-22 year as to not void the November signings. The issue of funding more than 13 scholarships is being left up to individual schools. All ncaa scholarships are renewable year to year and even without Covid-19 a school could decide to fund only 12 scholarships as an example.
I heard Coach Lick make a reference to a possibility that some seniors will return and there could be some transfers out. My interpretation of the rules is that we can only bring in an additional player other than the November signees is if a current scholarship player leaves the program after the current semester. Coaches will continue with their contacts in case someone decides to unexpectedly leave the program as happened last year. It’s not time to burn bridges.
