Has anyone heard if the upper decks will be open for the Valpo. game this Saturday. Will the attendance this Saturday be a gauge on if our fans are going to continue to back the Aces,or turn there on them

I think the attendance will be very strong on Saturday, but not sure about the upper deck opening. I think all fans are fully behind the team, and should be! They are very talented and fun to watch! I'll have to admit they do drive you crazy with their defensive lapses and questionable shot selections at times, but I feel like they will respond to the Aces crowd and play hard. The conference season is just getting started! Who knows ... we could start clicking and go on a winning spurt! Take advantage of these next 2 home games and get it going, Aces!!

Once again we are leading the conference in attendance. Of course, there are things in play that could affect that going forward..hopefully not. Keep in mind, Bradley has already had a home conference game. For all the chest-thumping a couple of UNI posters do, those numbers are pathetic considering their record in the non-con.
As of Jan 1, 2020
Evansville 5561 Bradley 5139 Illinois State 4356 Missouri State 3987 Southern Illino 3955 Northern Iowa 3496 Indiana State 3366 Valparaiso 2797 Loyola Chicago 2704 Drake 2517

Keeping the attendance up is important for a lot of reasons, not least of which is that it will help us attract a new coach when the time comes.
Also, we have a leg up on Bradley in that we get 5 weekend home games, while they only get 4.

I still have great memories of Roberts being SRO. I don't think The Ford Center will ever live up to the "Pit" atmosphere that Roberts had. I hope I'm wrong.

People take more antidepressants these days. Indiana is the second most depressed state according to one study I saw. Kentucky wasn't far behind. Antidepressant use has risen 75% since 1999. There are more reasons than that why the Ford center will never be a "pit," but it is a factor. When a ref makes a bad call today, there will be 1000 fans present or more who will whisper "okay whatever." Big Pharma has put a chill spell on us.

We all must accept that if coach is gone and the recruits and some key current players leave as well, which is to be expected, attendance will suffer. The team next year and year after will be terrible regardless of who is the new coach. Many in the Evansville and surrounding communities are ready and willing to support UE basketball but most people attend games with the hopes of celebrating a win as opposed to leaving frustrated and disappointed. If coach goes, there will plenty of disappointment in our near future.
As for the remaining schedule this year, I don't think attendance will be impacted by who is coach as much as how the team plays. The MSU loss was similar to many of the losses last year; that is not a good sign for future attendance, but it is only the 1st of 18 games. If each of the stars (Williams, Cunliffe, Labinowicz, Hall, Riley) can figure out how to be consistently good every game instead of great one game, terrible the next, we should be in for a great ride and large crowds. If not, then attendance will fall sharply. People are growing impatient.

Short of rehiring Marty or another Knight disciple with a boring offense, I believe the interest will remain on the upswing into the future.

If this group of guys, led by Coach Seltzer, make a successful run through The VALLEY, have a good showing in St Louis, & we as fans support them, for their effort. I believe, the entire lot of them (coach included) will return, next year. Obviously, sans KJ.

My bad. I let you all sort out the hopefuls, scholarships, recruits, signed, verbal's, committed, or lost in shuffle. Way to complicated for my feeble noggin. I was referring to the guys in uniform, this season. If they can stick together, weather the storm, & be somewhat successful. They may all want to stay together for one more push.
go aces

Honestly think Cunliffe will go pro if he gets any kind of an offer.
