In my coversations with youngacesfan, he assured me that the players know that us diehard fans got their backs. He has friends associated with the team.

Do everything you guys can do to get friends/family to the game Saturday to let the players know we are there to support the team and program not just a coach

First time actually making a mark on these boads. Been a long time viewer of the previous site but never posted. Just throwing out my thoughts that I am behind Coach Bennie and the team. Sweep through the Valley and show everyone that this team is magical. When a leader goes down, the next person has to stand up. There are good men on this team in the coaching staff and on the court. They will weather the storm and come out better than when they started. Whatever happens after this season will happen. All we can do is support the Aces.
The entire city of Evansville needs to get behind these young men. I live 5 hours away and work at night so getting to games is very difficult. But when I get there for the game on 2/23, I will be yelling until I get hoarse. Though I went to school at USI, I feel more connected to the Purple Aces program. I will still watch the Aces play on ESPN+. I will still wear my Purple Aces hat to work and be proud to call Evansville home.
As for the coach, I feel he is gone regardless. People are quick to throw people under the bus for anything. As soon as this incident surfaced, people made quick reactions. A lot of those items are pretty damning. If these allegations are proven to be false and that he did not violate the UE code of conduct/Title IX, then how could you come back to work knowing that all of these "fans" threw you on the ground and starting kicking you. I would not want that. Let the process take its course. Let the school take care of the investigation. Do not make a judgement until all the proven facts are out.
If he did violate the UE code of conduct and/or Title IX, throw him out. I will support the team regardless.
Once again, I appreciate the new site and if you need anything, we will be glad to help.
Even though this was said by Mr. McCarty, this needs to still be said, It's A Good Day to be a Purple Ace

After thinking about this for awhile on a cold, cloudy, windy morning, I don't really see how Walter can survive this. Even if he is found innocent, UE, a very conservative, and very Methodist University, cannot afford to have, as eville-ways put it, have a "horndog" in charge of the program. I hope with everything that he can survive this, but I just don't think he can.

I obviously don’t know the details of the situation going on with you guys, but I’ve never had a bad experience with an Aces fan and as such, I want you all to know that this Racer fan wishes you guys the best in this tough situation. Keep your heads up. This too shall pass, and I look forward to watching your program get back on track. Very classy gesture...thank you. Go Racers!

I hope he does the right thing and resigns. That would be the best for everyone involved. I sure hope he doesn't drag us through litigation, that would really hurt our program in more ways than we can imagine.

The UE president will ensure all the "x's and t's are crossed, hence, he hired an outside law firm. As an individual who has studied law, this president will have all his ducks in row before he acts. Anybody can contest anything...but I think this is going to be an airtight decision.

I just think if McCarty was smart, he'd just resign to not damage himself any further.

Time to breathe in, breathe out and move on. It is a sad time for the Aces program for sure, but starting to tomorrow, it is time to play ball. We all, including myself, need to be behind this team more than ever. I am sure the team is confused and in flux and will need us more than ever. With conference coming up...two things can happen...they can come together and play hard for each other or they can fold up the tents and call it a season. We need to show them that THEY are bigger as a group than any one person in the program. We can do this by not just taking up a seat in the Ford or on the road, but being active fans from the tip to finish. I have heard from more than one player that they hear us during games...let's make sure they hear us from start to finish. I am not ready to call it a season and I pray the team feels the same way.

New story about the investigation on the Courier. Most interesting paragraph to me follows:
"A national law firm is conducting an independent investigation into whether McCarty, 45, violated Title IX policy. The law states no one should be discriminated against on the basis of sex in any educational programs that receive federal funding. Title IX violations do not require a student to be involved. McCarty’s accuser could be a staff member."
The writer focuses on discrimination and not some kind of salacious scandal. The writer also pulls focus away from the students and toward another staff member. Maybe it doesn't mean anything, but it's curious to read between the lines.
But ultimately, it's going to be great to have a basketball game to watch tomorrow.

Coach McCarty has hired Indianapolis Attorney Jon Little to represent him I the investigation. Little said that Coach McCarty is Cooperating fully with the investigation. This is reports din the Indy Star.
“Last week, Coach McCarty was directed by UE officials to refrain from publicly commenting on the ongoing investigation. Coach McCarty would like nothing more than to publicly clear his name, but he respects UE's policies and its private investigatory process. As Coach McCarty cooperates with the investigation, he remains grateful for the support received from both the UE and Evansville communities.”

I really hope he's innocent. But from the information I have received, it doesn't look good. Go Aces, beat the Bears tomorrow afternoon.

The fact that Walter wants to publicly clear his name is enough to give me hope. I do hope he's innocent.
