Would love to take a shot at Damezi from Indiana. Think he could be a star for UE?!?!

Saw this too. Yes, we could use him. Isn’t he from S. Bend? Maybe he and Marcus have mutual contacts, ala Page and Marty Hill.

Fun to think about. You always wonder exactly what a kid is looking for. He didn't play a whole lot at IU, so if getting major minutes at a Mid-Major is an option he'd be a heck of guy to get. Not being far from home could be a possible benefit for sure.

Interesting, a little smaller than say a DeAndre at 6-7 but has a motor and can play bigger than his size. He is listed as a small forward and was a 4-star top-100 guy with offers similar to Trey Hall: Connecticut, Michigan, etc. Very versatile but shooting is supposed to be his strength but missed his last 18 shots for the year. Two years of eligibility and would have to sit a year if no transfer waiver.

Why do you people think we have a chance on some of these transfers

Once a scorer, always a scorer. He’s a legitimate big time player. My guess is that something got in his head at IU. Maybe he wasn’t sure he belonged there or something like that. Most of the time people like this just need a change in scenery.
Could the Aces be the answer. I think so. The chances of UE landing a big time center with all the tools probably isn’t in our cards. There just isn’t enough of them. I think our success will come from players in the 6-7 to 6-9 size across the front line. Many teams have had very successful programs with players of this type.
I hope that TL and staff will reach out. We don’t necessarily need him next year but he will fill a hole the next two. His physical size will allow him to bang in the Valley.

You’ve ALWAYS got a shot. Who knows why a kid goes one direction or another. Maybe Coach knows his HS coach. Regardless, you don’t have to have a true 5 to win in the MVC, as long as you have some toughness and a couple of 6-7/6-8’s.

Why do you people think we have a chance on some of these transfers Samari is a 4 star Mr. Basketball from Ohio who transferred from a Big 10 school. Playing time, smaller school, they like the coach, any number of reasons a player might transfer here. Off the top of my head Mislav, Haffner, Simmons, Richie Johnson, and Sloan all transferred from P5 schools and seemed to work out OK.

Surprised he committed so quickly. Major heist for Porter Moser and the Ramblers. This demonstrates once again you never know what may attract a kid to certain schools. Good for Loyola.

He moved closer to home, 78 miles compared to 200. Would have liked to seen him with an Aces uniform. Good Luck to him @ Loyola.

Jewell was Indiana Mr Basketball his senior year of HS and Crafton was an Indiana all-star. Dawson was an Illinois all-star.
